Today we celebrate World Environment Day
June 5 is World Environment Day, an event celebrated by the UN Environmental Program since 1973 to encourage “awareness and action for the protection of the environment”. Robinsun joins this celebration, since protecting our environment by decarbonizing the growing residential power consumption is at the very heart of our mission.
What is World Environment Day?
World Environment Day was launched in 1973 by the United Nations. It has been supported ever since by many NGOs, governments and businesses to support the mission of supporting the environment.
In 2024 the host nation for World Environment Day is Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest fossil fuel producers. The 2024 theme is “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience”. According to the World Environment Day’s website, “land restoration is a key pillar of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), a rallying call for the protection and revival of ecosystems all around the world, which is critical to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals”.
How does Robinsun contribute
Robinsun’s mission is to help decarbonize the energy consumed by households, and do this fast. We use readily available technologies in the components of our solutions, like solar panels, micro inverters or batteries, to create simple products that every household can afford and self-install. We sell online, direct-to-consumer, so that we can get our plug & play solar kits and batteries into as many households at the lowest possible price. This way there are really no excuses any more to decarbonise energy in households.
Robinsun constantly innovates to increase the benefit to its customers. This week we launched more powerful solar panels from leading brand Aiko for some of our kits. Last week we launched solar kits for installation on tiled roofs, expanding the application of plug & play kits to surfaces that have a natural inclination, increasing their production. And we just lowered the prices of our solar kits, to make them ever more affordable to a wide range of households.
Conclusions
Robinsun strongly believes that every household can contribute to our fight against climate change, and preserve our environment. We celebrate World Environment Day today, to underline the importance of acting now. Climate change and global warming are advancing at a very fast pace. We need urgent and immediate action by every household.
